Lighthouse Ball
December 1, 2009
The Lighthouse Ball is available as a tea light holder or outdoor oil lamp, in glossy black or white porcelain.
I really like these… yet when I look at the outdoor oil lamp I want it to be really large, like at least 24″ round for use as a modern fire pit. oh well.

Bocci Pendant Lighting

How pretty are these Bocci Pendants?
Lilli Light
December 11, 2008
I’ve posted before about side tables & desks that double as a book mark but this one has the added bonus of having a light. Not to mention that the light contains a sensor that turns off the light when an open book is placed on the shelf. When the book is picked up again,
the light automatically turns on. Lili Lite also has a switch to turn the light on and off manually.
Recycled Metal Globes
September 23, 2008
metalworkers interlace recycled metallic bands to form the delicate lattice that enables these globes to put out diffused, ambient lighting.

Globe Pendant
July 21, 2008
I’d love this Globe Pendant by West Elm for my entry. I just wish it was slightly smaller.
Fanaway
July 16, 2008
Fanaway by Joe Villella is a retracting blade ceiling fan. When switched off the fan blades automatically retract and conceal, visually transforming the unit into a slim, modern light pendant. Turning on the fan creates a centrifugal force which deploys the blades to circulate air within a room.
Fanaway is currently being manufactured by Beacon Lighting and tested for standards approval. All 60 Beacon Lighting stores will be selling FANAWAY® by mid 2008.
Light Box
June 26, 2008
A simple cast shadow produces elegant results in this line of lighting fixtures. Organic graphic patterns combine with the wooden texture to produce a modern wilderness.

Folded Bed
June 18, 2008
Slim and modern the bed sits low to the ground to minimize its presence. Both sides of the headboard diverge into symmetrical end tables that include semi translucent plastic panels. Each panel allows for rear lighting, perfect for reading in bed.
Solar Shoji Lanterns
June 4, 2008
Solar Powered!! I hate having to drape extension cords everywhere, which is why these caught my eye…
Hang this Japanese-inspired solar-powered lantern from a trellis or tree and enjoy its moonlike radiance. Yellow LED lights are encased in paper-like, weatherproofed nylon and automatically switch on at night. Includes AAA rechargeable battery and metal hanger. Folds flat for storage.

Niche Modern
June 2, 2008
I wrote about Niche Modern back in March, I mentioned the Pharos Pendant but I just saw the Pod Pendant in a house on Design Sponge and I think I may like that one better, especially the way they have them hung, at different lengths and colors.
oboiler
June 2, 2008
oboiler has a couple designs that caught my eye….
first was the side table constructed using no hardware
then this lace tape…which I just love on the plain brown box for mailing
and finally the Protea pendant….Apparently when the bulb is off and cold the shade will hug the bulb closely, but when the light is turned on and the bulb heats up the ‘petals’ move away from the hot bulb.
Bent Acrylic Lamp
June 2, 2008
I came across this pretty simple DIY project on How 2 point oh to make a bent acrylic lamp with birch veneer. He also has a bunch of other DIY projects on his site, if your interested.
LightCap 200
May 28, 2008
This small, lightweight (just 2.6oz) cap fits on any ‘standard’ water bottle (2” wide mouth) such as Nalgene®, Camelbak®, GSI® and most others, turning your bottle into a solar-powered lantern.
Bubble
May 27, 2008
This glowing silicone ball is both portable & rechargeable. A gentle squeeze turns the bubble on, and another one turns it off. Can be used on its own, or hanging from its cable.
Little Lamp
May 23, 2008
this miniature lamp combines form with function by using the battery alone as its base. Though incredibly petite, it, surprisingly, packs quite a punch; with the supplied D-Cell battery, you’ll get 150 hours of light from an LED bulb that should last over a decade.
Ikea pendant hack
May 23, 2008
I just saw this DIY hack of an ikea pendant light over at design sponge. As always, I wish I had an Ikea by me.
