The LapDawg can easily change its shape to suit a wide variety of functions such as a laptop holder, breakfast table, study table, bed desk, or as a lap desk. One side is equipped with a slip-resistant surface that keeps your laptop secure no matter the angle, plus a soft rubber comfort rest for your wrists. Flip it over and you have a smooth place to work comfortably with a raised, rounded edge to prevent those pesky pens and pencils from running away.

The Belgium Series End Table by Antoine Proulx may be ‘specified as right-facing or left- facing twisted cube. Standard (left-facing) is as shown. This table contains two drawers and one cupboard. Cupboard is located in the lower, twisted cube. The twisted cube is fixed in the position shown and does not pivot.’ (I kinda wish it did pivot!)

I was looking for patio tables and came arcross the ‘Massimo and Lella Vignelli’s 1994 PaperClip table. Which is ‘a playful variation on one of the world’s greatest designs, fashioning a clever base of metal rods with round and square tops.’ Shown here with Bertoia chairs.

Peaceful Balance Side Table

Old distressed wood carpentered to a reliably useful and comforting balance. A bit like us: life inherently distresses us, we try to work it out to an eventual peaceful balance. Maybe reminders like the table will hasten the peace.

Self-Destruct Table

A definite “limited edition”, this table will self-destruct. The top of the table is structured as a grid of concrete pixels. Each time a new table is produced, one pixel is removed from the design. Following these rules of self-destruction, the shape becomes more intricate as it diminishes. This project converges elements of mass production and handmade craftsmanship, resulting in a limited edition series of entirely unique tables that will continue until the shape is no longer practical.

oboiler has a couple designs that caught my eye….

first was the side table constructed using no hardware

then this lace tape…which I just love on the plain brown box for mailing 

and finally the Protea pendant….Apparently when the bulb is off and cold the shade will hug the bulb closely, but when the light is turned on and the bulb heats up the ‘petals’ move away from the hot bulb.

The PicNik is a table-seating combination specially created for the balcony, small surfaces, semi-public spaces, or as an indoors side piece object. Made from half a standard, massive plate of aluminium (10 mm).

I don’t know anything about it (perhaps one of you will), but I really like how they’ve used this stand/bench as a nightstand.

Flocks Pouf

I actually saw the Flocks Pouf awhile ago but never got around to posting it, and after finding the picture of Meindertsma actually knitting the pouf, I may be inclined to think it’s actually worth the price.

Using extra-large knitting needles produced specifically for her enterprise, Christien Meindertsma’s Flocks Pouf (2006) is hand-knit using strong wool from New Zealand crossbred sheep. The result is a uniquely textured pouf that will bring a sense of craft to your space. The pouf is available in two sizes (medium: light grey, large: dark grey) to accommodate use as a seat, occasional table, ottoman or even as a purely organic sculpture.

Dining Room

I want a new dining room set. Something somewhat modern yet not too much so that it wouldn’t fit with my traditional house. This might do…. but I’ll probably look for a different table…not sure how I feel about the sunken centerpiece detail on this one.
