Balcony mounted Grill

April 30, 2008

I just saw this great grill on Materialicious. It’s perfect for someone with no space for a full size grill.

Floor Cushion

April 30, 2008

Oh I’ve liked the idea of floor cushions for extra seating for awhile but all the options were rather expensive. However, this Japanese Cushion is perfectly in my price range (not sure what that says for the quality). They are handmade and filled with all-natural kapok (a vegetable fiber from seed pods).

I also like this option from west elm….of course they cost a lot more…but these you can use outdoors

AC9 Storage Unit

Atlas Industries makes the AC9 Storage Unit. The picture of the side alone would have made me love it.

Uno Ashtray

April 29, 2008

Well I haven’t gotten around to buying my man the Gamucci cigarettes and if I condoned smoking I’d get this ashtray by Helle Damkjaer. The Uno Ashtray has an unique funnel shape that ensures that cigarettes and matches are automatically extinguished when they are put into the ashtray.

While I have no use for these all terrain stairs right now they just strike me as something that may be good to keep track of for future use.

The Hewitt All-Terrain Staircase is the perfect solution for areas where a permanent staircase installation would be too difficult or costly. The system’s unique design allows it to be adjusted to almost any terrain or slope. Customization is easy with several lengths of modular stair, landing and rail units available. No permanent and costly footings are required. Simply use the optional landing pads, or pound the support poles directly into the ground. The lightweight, corrosion resistant aluminum construction makes set-up and take-down a breeze.

303 Chair

April 29, 2008

I saw these chairs and thought one would be perfect for at my computer desk, but then I saw the price….oh well, it’s still nice to look at…in case your interested it the 303 chair by Björn Mulder.

Yet

April 28, 2008

The modular wall holder Yet is a wall lamp with special features. The ends of two or more Yets touch in a way that creates a kind of shelf-object. This lamp’s construction can carry a small load of accessories or a couple of books.

Bloomframe

April 28, 2008

I actually saw the Bloomframe quite awhile ago before I started this blog but apparently it’s been in the development process all this time but is now scheduled to be available in 2008…

Bloomframe is an innovative window frame which can be transformed into a balcony. The dynamic balcony offers a solution for compact apartments in dense urban areas and can be installed in new or existing buildings. Hofman Dujardin Architects from Amsterdam designed and patented the balcony.

Rocking Red

April 28, 2008

Aside from the name, I really like this cuff bracelet created from a limited supply of red vinyl records, which are collectible records that record companies typically produced as promotional items to generate interest in an album. You can still feel the grooves and tracks fo the vintage record on the cuff.

Cast Iron Twig Skewers

April 28, 2008

Grilling outdoors gets back to nature with cast iron twig skewers. While providing the look of an actual twig the cast iron branches distribute heat evenly and has a non-stick finish for easy clean up.

Drying Rack

April 25, 2008

While it doesn’t really go with the style of my decor, I really like the functionality of this drying rack. Right now I have one of those folding kind that you then have to figure out where to sit once you have unfolded it, and the fact that this one takes up no floor place is my main attraction to it.

Thermique

April 25, 2008

New Thermique “WarmVue” heated glass technology transforms ordinary glass into a heating device for eliminating cold areas near windows. A transparent coating on the glass generates heat when subjected to an electrical current. The current is supplied by two buss bars located on opposite sides of the glass. All electrical components are hidden within the window frame. A patented controller mounts on the wall like a light switch, and allows adjustment of the window temperature. The coated glass radiates heat uniformly, with precise temperature control, and remains completely transparent, without any distortion or discoloration. Heated windows offer the added benefit of a clear view by eliminating condensation, fogging, and frost.

Riddling Racks

April 25, 2008

Each Riddling Rack has an antique look and is made from repurposed oak. Each one of the pieces has small cracks, splits, or knots in the wood that give them a fingerprint of their own.

Glass Planters

April 25, 2008

I saw these lovely glass planters over at apartment therapy and was instantly smitten. Perhaps if I used some desert plant I might be able to keep it alive….

Darumina Canister

April 24, 2008

I currently hide my canisters away in a cabinet because they are your run of the mill, ugly plastic containers. These however, I would let grace my counters…

The canisters were designed in 1967 by Sergio Asti. He originally designed it as a table lamp. The beautiful Darumina canister has a beautiful organic shape with rounded edges. It is made of high quality Japanese porcelain.

Charger DVR

April 24, 2008

I’m a bit of a control freak….so this little camera instantly had me thinking how I could see what is going on at my house when I’m not there

The Charger DVR plugs into a standard outlet and records up to 66 hours of audio video in 2GB Micro SD card. It also has a built in lithium battery for when it’s not connected to the outlet. The lithium battery will provide 3 hours of audio video.

re:vision jewelry

April 23, 2008

Craig Arnold came up with the idea to recycle old camera parts into jewelry. His re:vision line of jewelry comes from old cameras when things were actually made from metal.

AQUS System

April 23, 2008

Oh this is brilliantly simple….

The AQUS System is an innovative water conservation device. The AQUS system capters water from the sink and filters and disinfects it to be reused for toilet flushing. Tucked inside the vanity below the sink, the AQUS reservoir works in conjunction with standard lavatory pipes and holds up to 5.5 gallons of water that is reused from the sink. A single hose connects the reservoir inside the vanity to the toilet, eliminating the unnecessary use of fresh water.

The Docking Entertainment System by Philips lets you enjoy DVDs and iPod videos on an 9″ color widescreen. Featuring a retractable adaptor for iPod and built-in SD/MMC card slots, you can view DivX movies or digital photos from multiple sources.  Of course, this would be much nicer if it came in a larger version.
