I hate when I see something I’d like to buy and it’s only a concept design

Hang On Outlet
July 29, 2008
I usually try to stear clear of concept designs but I still check them out at yanko design. They just posted one I really liked the functionality of – the ‘Hang On Outlet’ by designer Paulo Oh.
Snooze
April 10, 2008
Here’s another concept design by Laurence Willmott. I especially like this one since I know many people who us their cell phone as their alarm
Research showed that 85% of people use their mobile phones as alarm clocks. ‘Snooze’ is a basic mobile phone with a secondary designed function – an alarm clock.
Rough Measure
April 10, 2008
I really like the “Rough Measure” concept for clothing. He wants to make items of clothing can have a function in the workshop.
Loop
March 12, 2008
My co-worker has told me how I need to have an incandescent light at my desk, since it’s better for my eyes than the fluorscent that are above me now. But I refuse to put one of those ugly clip on lights we have here at the office…
now if we had an incandescent that looked like this concept design by the Norwegian group Trokk16 then maybe my poor eyes would get a break….
Bottleneck Saver
March 10, 2008
The bottleneck saver is a concept design that is part of the ‘Greenhouse Effect’, an exhibition by Orcadesign exploring the theme of sustainability in conjunction with the Singapore Design Festival. It’s designed to be attached to liquid soap dispenser necks and restricts the amount dispensed in order to reduce unnecessary wastage.
I’m just wishing they would actually make this so I could get my kids to stop using so much hand soap when they wash their hands.
Mobile Projection
March 10, 2008
Microvision is working on mini- or “pico-” projectors that can be embedded in cell phones and portable devices.
I found their pitch to use the projecter to pick up women in a bar rather amusing….
Mobile Printer
March 5, 2008
Here’s a design from Hung Chih Wang that I would love to be able to purchase, a portable printer that attaches to the back of your laptop display, has a detachable printer head and is USB powered. It would be perfect for uncluttering your desk.
Habitual Bedside Table
March 4, 2008
I don’t necessarily like the aesthetics of this but I like the functionality, but I guess it’s just a concept design so it could look better once built.
Designer: Stephane de Sousa
Clothline Clip
February 27, 2008
It is a cloth line clip to be used as a daily life utility product for both indoor as well as outdoor application. The product is a single piece injection molded component in recycled plastic with reduced number of components. Its primary innovation is the possibility of being hanged by both of its extremities.
Mail Collector
February 27, 2008
Jason Culler’s mail collector + tote above, “Designed for homes with mail slots in the door, the mail collector hangs in the mail slot, collecting whatever mail is slipped through, and can be easily removed for pick-up and sorting, thus fixing the problem of scattered mail on the floor.”
Fragrant Soap Rings
February 27, 2008
After washing your hands with the soap ring, the ring disappears becoming a scent. The jewellery leaves a fragrance silmilar to a drop of perfume.
Thinker or Stinker
February 26, 2008
Thought these were hilarious….and yet a really good idea. Of course I write on my hand all the time so putting a roll of paper anywhere is a good idea for me.
eiCrate
February 17, 2008
So I don’t have a small dog….I don’t really even like small dogs, but I love the look of this dog cage….perhaps there’s something else that it could be used for….
Well, I do have some small children……j/k

Hanging Printer Concept:
I hate when I find something that I would love to have only to find out it’s a concept design.
