Storage Beds
February 10, 2009
I have a thing for beds with built in storage underneath. It looks clean, simple and stops the unavoidable build up of junk under your bed (which I have tons of). This is my current favorite.
Lilli Light
December 11, 2008
I’ve posted before about side tables & desks that double as a book mark but this one has the added bonus of having a light. Not to mention that the light contains a sensor that turns off the light when an open book is placed on the shelf. When the book is picked up again,
the light automatically turns on. Lili Lite also has a switch to turn the light on and off manually.

SimpleDoubleDeux
July 8, 2008
The SimpleDoubleDeux by Drexler Guinand Jauslin Architects is a sofa bed that pulls out to sleep two.
Folded Bed
June 18, 2008
Slim and modern the bed sits low to the ground to minimize its presence. Both sides of the headboard diverge into symmetrical end tables that include semi translucent plastic panels. Each panel allows for rear lighting, perfect for reading in bed.
Conseta Furniture
June 16, 2008
The Conseta sofabed unfolds on telescopic runners to become a roomy double bed complete with a spacious linen box, base, mattress and pillows. Click on the link to see an animation of the bed opening and closing.
Conseta also has a low table, however, my need for hidden storage stops me from buying anything like this, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t appreciate it.
Eclosion

Thought this sofa bed by Olivier Gregoire was kinda interesting….the site doesn’t go into much detail though…like how it inflates…
Anywhere Sofa
April 14, 2008
I’ve spent the better part of the day looking for a really really small sofa sleeper.
This is the smallest one I’ve found and it’s small enough to fit where I want it to so I’ve stopped looking. So if there is anyone else that needs a really really small sofa sleeper, here you go….
Bed
March 31, 2008
I also want a new bed, but I just really hate spending money on large purchases. I, however, have no problem spending money on small things. Perhaps this is why I like to think I can build (or get someone to help me build) everything I see…..
I just saw this bed in an apartment shown on apartmenttherapy and immediately started to think how I could make it. Especially since I just found this website that sells hairpin legs ($22 ea), and you can always get a slatted bed frame from Ikea for $50 (queen size) so now I just need to price the wood for the exposed wood sections, and consult with someone on how those hairpin legs actually support the bed because that makes me a little nervous….

Scoop Quadro
March 21, 2008
Here’s a different take on the sofa bed. The Scoop connects the two sofas by a removable chrome-plated zip fastener outfitted with a hook system for the bed set-up. There are cylindrical chrome-plated legs for the fixed element and small brake wheels for the mobile element.

Doze
March 14, 2008
I love this Doze Bed, that has the illusion of floating in the air. In actuality it has feet near the front of the bed to help to keep the unit balanced and the back cushions are removable.
Sofabed
March 13, 2008
Sofa beds are everywhere now but this one designed in 1934, a Modernist/post-Bauhaus piece that sports clean, simple lines and straight edges has to be my favorite. A pivoting mechanism allows the seatback to swivel flat, and is perched on a hand-polished chrome frame.

Beds

While I’m thinking about beds….here are some others I found
a modern bunk bed from Gudiksen Design
the Float Bed from Max Longin
Bedup
March 11, 2008
You’d think I lived in an efficiency the way I’m drawn to space saving contraptions. Here’s a bed that stores in the ceiling above. This is nice because it doesn’t require any clear space or the moving of any furniture for you to fold out the bed, unlike a regular murphy bed.
Matroshka
March 11, 2008
This is a compact living system, containing an L-shaped sofa, double bed, dinner table, four stools, total seating for 12, home office workspace, wardrobe and a bunch of storage, Matroshka is a compact living space’s dream come true; in its most compact form, it takes up just about 43 square feet.
Habitual Bedside Table
March 4, 2008
I don’t necessarily like the aesthetics of this but I like the functionality, but I guess it’s just a concept design so it could look better once built.

Flou Bed
March 3, 2008
Under my bed is a wreck. I would love to have this bed and be able to easily store and access everything under there….and this probably wouldn’t accumulate all the dust bunnies….
