Bent Acrylic Lamp

Slinky Vase

Making it Lovely has a great vase made from a slinky. She got hers from her mother-in-law but I’d think it might be an easy do it yourself project. The coils move around, and there’s a vase in the center to hold the flowers and water.

Washing Machine Barrel Lamp

I was looking over at Grassroots Modern and saw their link to make a lamp using an old  washing machine barrel, which looks surprisingly attractive.

l would really like this magazine rack from Chiasso in my half bath, however, I really don’t have a good wall to put it on. So I may just go with the DIY one below made from a carpet sample.

Bed

I also want a new bed, but I just really hate spending money on large purchases. I, however, have no problem spending money on small things. Perhaps this is why I like to think I can build (or get someone to help me build) everything I see…..

I just saw this bed in an apartment shown on apartmenttherapy and immediately started to think how I could make it. Especially since I just found this website that sells hairpin legs ($22 ea), and you can always get a slatted bed frame from Ikea for $50 (queen size) so now I just need to price the wood for the exposed wood sections, and consult with someone on how those hairpin legs actually support the bed because that makes me a little nervous….

Curtain Rod

I saw this idea to make your own curtain rod from metal conduit over at shelterrific. I only wish I’d seen it before I went and bought the run of the mill curtain rod I have from Lowes.

Wallpaper Menagerie – Tree Silhouette

handcut of vintage wallpaper….but if you have some artistic abilities I think you could easily paint this and use wallpaper samples to create the leaves…..the little birdhouse light really finishes it off perfectly….

I just saw this wonderful little organizer at apartmenttherapy  Right now my mail and keys get thrown on the counter into messy piles. Doesn’t seem like it would be to difficult to make if you can sew, or have a mother who does like me….
