DaysAgo Digital Counter

April 16, 2008

If your refrigerator is anything like mine then this handy little device might be for you…

The DaysAgo Digital Counter tracks exactly how many days leftover containers have been in the refrigerator or freezer. It can also be used to keep track of how long it’s been since the air filter has been changed or how many days ago your plants were watered.

Dishware

April 14, 2008

I liked this Porcelain French Fry Pouch. I don’t know how much you’d actually use it but the wrapper is life-size and artfully captures the creases, folds and shape of the real wrapper.

On the same site was this nestling sandwich and soup bowl tray. The ceramic combo lets you end the precarious balancing act of enjoying your favorite quick and comfy meal.

Kubo Shelf

April 9, 2008

I just saw this shelf over at apartmenttherapy. I like it as a nightstand but I like the idea of using it in the kitchen for cookbooks and what-not even more.

Eleek

April 8, 2008

I love this countertop. They are 100-percent recycled aluminum tiles from Eleek, and they are rather expensive, starting at $95 a square foot. So I’ll just post them on here so I can come back from time to time to drool.

Cork Underlay Ladder

April 4, 2008

This trivet would be great for when you have various hot dishes instead of having multiple (probably mismatched) trivets for each dish.

Hotholder

April 2, 2008

Here are two contraptions that I thought looked pretty useful. I hate when you use a regular oven mitt to get a dish out of the oven and you have to practically stick it into the food to get a good grip on the dish. If these actually hold without slipping they would be much nicer than a cloth oven mitt.

Herb Ladder

March 21, 2008

Every time I see a planter I think of my mother because she is obsessed with plants. The herb planter can be placed horizontally to be placed on a table if need be. I only wish you could get a larger version for house plants, then I’d have a wonderful Christmas idea…

Round Pumpkin Dish

March 20, 2008

Who knew the bottom of a pumpkin could look so nice as a dish?….Apparently Daniel Reynolds, who designed this pumpkin dish to identify the organic forms found in nature.

Play with your food…

March 14, 2008

Jamie Wieck has created these kid friendly plates that actually make you want to play with your food. The plates of a simple embossed feature that turn them into templates that allows the user to use their food as facial features, even one the food has been eaten.

Backsplash

March 11, 2008

So when I was looking at kitchens I was on Ikea’s website and I saw this kitchen….

Photobucket

and when I went to the “products that make this style” tab, it listed fabric. Wondering what fabric was in the kitchen, I clicked on it to find they had used fabric as their backsplash?? Which has me wondering if there is something you can do to fabric to make it water resistant seeing how this is the only way you’d be able to use it as a backsplash…. perhaps behind a clear piece of glass??

Space Corner

March 6, 2008

I don’t love my kitchen but it’s fine. To the degree that I’ll probably never put the money into redoing it, but it’s really not my taste. However, when I see all the wonderful storage options they have for kitchens now I really wish I could redo mine. Take for example this space corner drawer….

Squeeze Bottle

February 29, 2008

I thought this was a wonderful alternative to having to sit out those ugly ketchup and mustard bottles when your have a cookout or what not….

Photobucket

Ketchup, mustard and other condiments get a new look with Arian Brekveld’s Squeeze Bottle. Crafted from stainless steel on the top half and squeezable plastic on the bottom, the Squeeze Bottle has a removable stainless steel cap, which lets you shake up vinaigrettes or other dressings with no mess.

Recycle Center

February 25, 2008

I need to recycle more. Right now I only do my cans (which I get paid for) and I know I should do so much more. I really like the simplicity of this recycle center but spending $169 is going to take cashing in a lot of cans. For those of you that aren’t as poor as me…..

The Container Store

I don’t drink coffee, but I might serve it to someone someday and wouldn’t it be nice to only have one container for both cream and sugar…. (and the website’s pic doesn’t show that weird gold in the sugar bowl)

Photobucket

The sugar bowl balances and swivels inside the creamer pitcher, so you can pour cream without having to remove the bowl.
