Glassybaby

July 10, 2008

Glassybaby‘s are made through a multi-layered glass-blowing process and their color comes from different shaded color rods to produce a mix of opaque, translucent, and deeply colored glasses. This method creates a thick, strong piece of glass that has many functions and uses.

Bubble Calendars

July 9, 2008

There’s just something about packaging bubbles that brings out the kid in me. I love nothing better than to jump all over them. So I just loved this Bubble Calendar, however, it might take more restraint than I have to not pop them all before the month is over!

Ship Wood Bench

July 3, 2008

This bench at VivaTerra, is “hand-wrought from a no-longer sailing vessel. With a patina that radiates softly like thick layers of satin, while its aged density and strength give it a nobility all its own.”

GreenScreen

July 2, 2008

The Ample Sample contest was conceived as a way to promote creative re-use of the many thousands of carpet tile samples shipped to architects and designers. The instructions for the winning designs are available for free to others. The 2008 contest recently concluded and one of the People’s Choice winners was Evan Gant’s Green Screen

GreenScreen uses a standard carpet sample size (13.5 x 18), requires simple tools and very little work to assemble, perfect for an easy DIY project. GreenScreen can redefine any space, and is ideal for separating work and living areas in a home. Carpet samples work especially well for this task since they provide sound dampening qualities and an interesting visual presence. GreenScreen can be constructed to fit in a wide variety of spaces and can make good use of 150+ carpet samples

Paper Shampoo

July 1, 2008

Not something I’d normally post about. But just recently I found myself without shampoo, since I hate packing bottles in my luggage.

An ingenious way to get your shampoo on in a very convenient, compact packaged form while traveling/camping this summer. These Dissolving Paper Shampoo sheets transform into a minty fragrant lather with just a little water (you can even use it with ocean water while camping) so you can keep your hair looking and smelling pleasant while away from home.

Pet Feeder

June 30, 2008

You don’t see too many nice looking pet dishes but the Wowo 1 Series Pet Feeder is just that. Of course, good looks don’t come cheap.

Wowo 1 Series Pet Feeder

This walnut breadboard is designed so that the crumbs fall through into the hollow areas below, collecting there until the top is removed and the crumbs can be easily cleaned up.

16.5″L x 8″W.

Introducing chalkboard coasters that you can store on your fridge (or any other magnetic surface). These coasters are made with a special UV coated vinyl that you can draw on with regular chalk and then wipe off with a damp cloth for their next use. The cool thing is the cork backs have a small, strong magnet embedded in them so you can store them on the refridgerator when you’re not using them. Each magnet is counter sunk so the back surface of the coaster remains flat.

GE Caulk Singles

June 23, 2008

Being someone who has a house that requires its fair share of renovation and who hates caulking guns, I’m completely smitten with GE’s new caulk singles.

“GE Caulk Singles, single-use disposable packages of caulk, reinvent the caulking experience for the consumer by putting an end to caulk guns and hard-to-use squeeze tubes. With its deceptively simple, yet ingeniously engineered packaging, Caulk Singles dispense effortlessly with one hand, require no tools, and leave essentially no waste in the package.”

Trashy

June 16, 2008

Trashy’s lid, rather than swinging up, slides all the way to the side, which leaves the inside exposed for throwing the recyclable and compostables in. This sliding action allows the top surface to be fully used as a table top, with a 90 lb capacity. The landfill trash goes into a drawer bin which pulls out towards the user. There is a lower drawer for bag storage, and space in teh top for hazardous waste like batteries. The compost bin can be slipped out for countertop or in-sink use.
